In the world of internet, internet marketing is the upcoming marketing means of promoting products and service on the internet. Internet marketing is all about using the power of Internet advertising to generate a response from your audience. Also known as online marketing or web marketing, online marketing is used by companies selling goods and services directly to consumers as well as those who operate on a business-to-business model.
In internet marketing there is two key players, advertiser and publisher. Advertiser could be a merchant who is selling the products or services through internet and publisher is the one who publishes information as in a website. Advertiser pays for the promotion of the goods, services, or any number of other things, where as publisher also known as affiliate gets paid for marketing. Internet marketing saves time and helps to generate immense revenue. But as everything as has its own pros and cons in similar manner even online marketing has some as follows:
Advantage of Online Marketing
Internet marketer has the advantage of measuring statistics easily and inexpensively; almost all aspects of an Internet marketing campaign can be traced, measured, and tested. The advertisers can use a variety of methods, such as pay per impression, pay per click and pay per action. Therefore, marketers can determine which messages or offerings are more appealing to the audience. The results of campaigns can be measured and tracked immediately because online marketing initiatives usually require users to click on an advertisement, to visit a website, and to perform a targeted action.
Disadvantage of Online Marketing
The main disadvantage of the internet marketing is from the buyer’s perspective, the inability of shoppers to touch, to smell, to taste, and “to try on” tangible goods before making an online purchase can be limiting. However, there is an industry standard for e-commerce vendors to reassure customers by having liberal return policies as well as providing in-store pick-up services.
Conclusion
Internet provides enormous opportunities for advertisers, and thus they can end up giving the customer more information about a particular product that they are endorsing.
Customers find it easy to search products that they intend to buy over the internet. It just requires that they enter the right keyword and click on the search button in any search engine.
Online marketing costs less compared to any other kind of advertising or marketing. So it one of the most effective way of marketing in the today’s world of internet.
